After escaping from the war with the Covenant, the Pillar of Autumn cruiser landed on the mysterious "Halo", a giant ring-shaped celestial body. Covenant pursuers came after them and captured the captain of the Pillar of Autumn. The Pillar of Autumn Cruiser's only super-bio-soldier, John 117, was captured.
